Teachers: We Need You!

Sponsorship Process

CoMP offers a tuition sponsorship for a qualified teacher candidate who is under contract with Spokane Public Schools (SPS) and wants to attain Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) elementary certification.

This sponsorship is offered to pay tuition costs in connection with an award recipient attending training courses at an AMI-certified elementary training center. Training may be completed over three consecutive summers, or during a single academic year.

CoMP may award a sponsorship to any single recipient in an amount up to, but not exceeding, eleven thousand dollars, solely for the purpose of defraying tuition costs. Funds will be disbursed by CoMP to the training center. CoMP will under no circumstances provide funds directly to the recipient.

Please note that this sponsorship is not awarded every year. The decision as to whether or not to provide the sponsorship will be made solely by CoMP, based upon availability of funds and the anticipated need for additional teachers in the Spokane Public Schools Montessori program, among other factors.
